Weight gain and overshoot in recovery. What was your personal experience and that of your clients. How long to lose excess weight gained during recovery?
Extreme hunger. Having to eat so much more than normal peoplE to prevent binging. What is your opinion on going “all in” like Stephanie Buttermore
Poor sleep and hungry during the night
Good question Sarah. I’ll definitely prepare a video on that. Here are already a few points to help:
First of all, you have to take into account that it will be different for everyone. But generally speaking, I would say about 1 year to find your balance back (some studies show about 9 months) – but it really depends on where you are when you start recovery (actively purging vs no purging, etc). It can make a huge difference. On my side, because I was purging so much, it probably took more time and more weight gain to get back to balance, even though looking back, it was very manageable. The main – and hardest – thing for everyone is to embrace the uncertainty and stop looking at your weight for a certain period of time. The hardest is not the weight gain, it is the change in how you perceive it.
While going all in, I believe it’s a personal choice. I would never have been able to do that overnight for example. It took a while to change my belief system and being ok with all of that. It was so hard to just feel full that my work was more on being ok to feel full and being ok to eat any kind of food. Hope that helps 😉
