I’ve got the pleasure to introduce you to my beautiful friend Claire. Claire has studied Holistic Nutrition at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, like me ;)

She is a Sydney based Holistic Energy Healer and Health Coach. She is the founder of Purely Health and helps others in achieving their goals for lasting, vibrant health and wellness for themselves, through a variety of different approaches.

Could you please explain what brought you there/how did you find your path?

From a very young age, I wanted to help, in whatever way shape or form that happened to be. Being strongly intuitive, I have always had a strong connection to nature and the energies around me, and I think on some level that led me to my passion for health and wellness. After many years of following conventional wisdom, I discovered that regaining my own health and vitality came down to listening to what my own body and spirit were telling me, and now I’m so fortunate to be able to help others do the same!


What’s new and good regarding your projects & what do you plan for the near future?

I’m really excited about some workshops I’m currently developing around Intuitive eating, and cooking for allergies/intolerances without feeling deprived. Over the next few months I’ll also be working on a meal and recipe planning program for time poor and stressed out people looking to improve their health!!


What was your best holiday/trip & why?

I still consider my best trip to be a trek I did through Nepal when I was 17. This trip completely changed my outlook on life. The simple generosity that is such an inherent part of their culture is something I will never forget. Not to mention the sheer beauty of the region!!! While it was not an easy trip in many ways, it was the first time I really learnt for myself just what “I was made of”, and I’ve been talking about going back ever since :)


What’s your favourite beauty product/cosmetic?

I’m in love with Suskin’s skin and body range. Their Purifying mask is fantastic, and their Shampoo and Conditioner is one of the few that I can actually use – and they smell so pretty!


What’s your most important health secret?

Chase down what brings you joy, and everything else just falls into place.


Life is a continual improvement, what did you learn lately?

Letting go of the stress and worry of what is out of my control is an ongoing lesson of mine – hopefully I’m getting the hang of it now


I know you struggled with eating disorders. What tip/advice would you give to our readers to help them recover from ED?

One day it jumped up on me that I didn’t have to be anything or anyone other than memy life wasn’t meant to be about living up to anyone else’s ideals or expectations. At that point I started to look at what I wanted from my life and the things that were important to me. I had been uniquely created (as are we all) in this slightly quirky wrapper for a reason, and before I could find out why, I had to let go of all the rules and judgments I’d placed upon myself and learn to understand, accept and love myself just as I am. Once I felt that, I was able to more closely focus on the reasons behind my food choices and what those choices were really about.


What tip/advice would you give to our readers to help them reach their dreams/happiness?

If you hold fast to your dreams, and trust you will accomplish them, you will find your way.

I’m a bit in love with avocado – it’s so versatile, it goes into my smoothies, omelettes, salads, desserts – very handy :)


Season & why

Spring, I love seeing the seasons change and waking up in the morning feeling the crisp air, before the day turns bright and warmish.
