2 days ago, I lost my iPhone 4s. I lost it (or should I say ‘left it’) in a cab. This phone is clearly more than a phone. This is a mini computer and contains all my pictures, contacts, notes and apps. On top of that it’s one of the most expensive phones on the market. So this definitely was a painful experience.
However, even if I knew it was just a phone my mind automatically kept coming back to this painful event during the next 24 hours. This is quite funny to observe how your phone can create such a shock in your life.
This kind of things doesn’t happen to me usually and to be honest I’ve passed the scene many times in my mind without recalling how I could have left it fall in the cab. Or did I leave it on the seat? I have absolutely no idea.
But what I do know is that this is actually sending me a very clear message. I was not quite in alignment with myself when this happened. To be honest I don’t think I was quite in alignment during the whole weekend. The week before, I had left life getting over me and I was trying to push myself to manage it all instead of just going with the flow.
The fact that I lost my phone like that and that I am now forced to stay ‘phone free’ during at least a week is really meaning something to me.
I think we should never try to manage it all. The best thing we should do is really taking care of ourselves.
So I started the week by increasing my yoga practice and my relaxation time and I deeply know that everything will fall into place again.
I just wrote down this story to actually tell you one only thing: “Always, always put yourself & your own wellbeing first, everything else will follow.” If you don’t do that, you won’t be able to enjoy every little things life has to offer.
