In our societies, where we can find practically any type of food everywhere, it can be confusing to recognise those that can be used every single day in order to support your health. This list of food will change your life and your health if you make sure to add them to your current diet on a daily basis.

Here are the 10 things everyone should have everyday with a balanced diet:

1. Warm water (first thing in the morning, with lemon)

Starting your day with a cup of warm water and a dash of fresh lemon juice is just the perfect way to wake up your digestive system. This will gently clean it by pushing all the waste and toxins to your bowels. This is what you need before putting anything else into your system, especially if you experience some kind of stagnation in your digestion.

2. Fresh Lemon Juice

Lemons are high in vitamin C and potassium, they boost your immune system, helps control blood pressure, balance pH and aids digestion. If you don’t have it with your warm water first thing in the morning, use it in your salads, juices, smoothies and other raw or cooked dishes.

3. Spirulina

Spirulina is one of my favourite super greens. It’s a good source of omega 3 and 6, Iron, chlorophyll and beta-carotene. You can choose the powder form, which is easily absorbed by your body, or the tablets. Adding spirulina into your diet can definitely help you increase your energy levels quite quickly.

4. Omega 3 fatty acids

Omega 3 fatty acids are important to fight inflammation. It’s common to lack of these in our modern diets. So be careful to have enough of them on a daily basis. You can find them in oily fish, fish oil, hemps seeds and oil, flax seeds and oil, nuts and seeds as well as in spirulina.

5. Good saturated fats

Good sources of saturated fat are essential for your health. Saturated fats support your immune system, thyroid gland, nervous system and skin. You can find them in avocados, coconut oil and other coconut products.

6. Coconut water

Coconut water is full of electrolytes and is great for hydration. Even if it can’t replace water, it has many health benefits such as antiviral and anti ageing properties.

7. Probiotics

Taken as supplement or straight from your food, probiotics are important to replenish gut flora and keep your gut healthy. This is important to take care of your immune system but also to make sure you are absorbing nutrients efficiently. You can find them in fermented veggies, kefir, apple cider vinegar, etc.

8. Fresh, raw fruits and veggies

Eating fresh, raw and preferably organic fruits and veggies every day is important to get enough enzymes, vitamins and nutrients. They keep you younger as they allow your body to keep its own enzymes stocks for other vital functions. They are easily digested and are packed with goodness.

9. Veggie juice

Veggie juices are great to bring heaps of nutrients, minerals and vitamins to your system. As it comes as liquid form, the goodness is directly absorbable by your body. It’s so good and efficient that once you get started, it’s hard to stop juicing!

10. Antioxidants

Antioxidant are very important. Not only to keep you younger longer but also to protect you from free radicals, sun rays, pollution and other intoxicants from our modern life style. You can find plenty of them in berries – especially gojis – spirulina, raw cacao and other dark veggies.

11. Bonus: clean, filtered water (heaps)

Of course, it’s essential to stay well hydrated by drinking heaps of filtered water. Dehydration is the first cause of cravings, mood swings and many other issues such as headaches and urinary problems.
